The Industar-61 L/D is an Ukrainian beauty from the FED factories. It generally is a highly regarded lens, if you can get a good working copy, that is. I'm very fond of this lens, which has a nice bokeh, is quite small, combines beautifully with the NEX and delivers good image quality, especially for subjects that are close. The main drawback is the maximum aperture: f/2.8

Several versions exist of this lens: variations of the FED-logo, 53mm vs. 55mm, etc. The serial (9135490) indicates the lens was made in 1991. Princelle lists this lens as F430.

Aperture range: f/2.8-f/16
Minimum focussing distance: 1m
Aperture blades: 6

Interesting to note is that the Л in Л/Д stands for Lanthanum (La, element 57 in the periodic system). Many a discussion can be found on the internet whether or not this means that this lens is radioactive. I'm not going to bother you with that... ;)

You can take a look at the dedicated Industar-61 Л/Д gallery or at my complete Gallerie de gear. Some photos of this Ukrainian optic:

The ARG-file I use with exiftool: industar61ld_9135490.txt

-n
-ex
-XMP:lens=Industar-61 Л/Д 55mm f/2.8 (M39)
-XMP:serialnumber=9135490
-EXIF:maxaperturevalue=2.8
-EXIF:focallength=55
-EXIF:focallengthin35mmformat=55
-EXIF:fnumber=2.8

Code Л/Д will show up as Л/Д in a program such as LR. Change it to L/D if you don't like it :)

Two example photographs taken with this lens (both from the Church of Our Lady, Aarschot):

ISO1600, f/2.8, 1/40s
